This page contains a collection of images taken from a 3 ½ month trip through Nepal in late 2013. I spent some time exploring this small landlocked country and found it to be one of the most diverse countries I have ever visited. I undertook a couple of treks to Everest Base Camp and Annapurna Base Camp, spending a total of 6 weeks walking and photographing the high mountains. Between treks, I also spent some time exploring the Kathmandu Valley which I found to be an extremely relaxing place once the dusty smoggy surroundings of the city are left behind. I particularly enjoyed Bhaktapur, the ancient Newar town. It presents countless photo opportunities as you wander its streets admiring the architecture.
Before and after the trek to Annapurna Base Camp, I of course spent the customary time in the tranquil surroundings of the Pokhara Lakeside, the ideal place to unwind for a few days after a tough trek. However, one of the big surprises for me was the Terai region in southern-central Nepal, the area surrounding Lumbini was particularly enjoyable to explore.
Finally, you may notice quite a few portraits within the above collection. Friendly and photogenic, it’s hard to come away from Nepal without at least a few photos of its people!
